Experiment/Solstice/Fountains of Fire/Nature's Tears

about

Alot going on here. Dave came up with the idea of doing a whole section (the 2nd half of the album) with a series of songs which tied together with the concept of global warming. Experiment was added to the beginning after we started working on the other sections. “Breathe deep, the gathering gloom……..” Remember that? The opening to the Moody Blues’ Nights in White Satin. I was thinking of that and thought it would be cool to open the sequence with something like that as a sort of introduction. It gives a sense of mystery to the whole concept. As the medley progresses it flows smoothly between the different sections culminating in a news broadcast about global warming. Pretty cool………or hot, huh? - Frank

lyrics

Experiment / Solstice / Fountains Of Fire / Nature’s Tears

So long ago, we don’t know when
We wonder why it all began
Oh yes, there really was a bang
To start it all as angels sang

A bright new star to give us life
And see us through love and strife
Trillions of stars we cannot see
Are there others like you and me?

Billions of light years from sun to sun
Could we be the only ones?
Given a choice to love or hate
Have we really sealed our fate?

The evolution of creation is a mystery
Will we ever know our history?
May I be so bold as I suggest?
This is all a collossal test

Individually living as one
Receiving life from a faraway sun
How long do we live?, how long do we love?
Are we watched from far above?

So have we passed or have we failed?
Recorded somewhere with every detail
For this experiment has given birth
To the place we call………….planet Earth.

Solstice (instrumental)
Fountains Of Fire (instrumental)

Nature’s Tears

A new day’s risin’
The sun is shinin’
Out on the horizon
Mother’s cryin’

A mountain stream
A clear blue sky
Broken dreams
Bring a tear to her eye

It’s so pretty
Country and city
Oceans and fields
How does she feel

She’s cryin’
She’s cryin’ again
Wondering
When’s it gonna end

She’s cryin’, she’s cryin’
She’s cryin’, she’s cryin’
